  • For the Cake:
    • 120g leftover cake crumbs (any flavor!)
    • 30g frosting or melted chocolate
    • 1 tbsp milk (optional)
  • For the Dipping:
    • 150g melted chocolate (milk, dark, or white)
    • Sprinkles, chopped nuts, or other decorations (optional)

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Parchment paper
  • Knife
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Baking tray (optional)

  1. Cake Crumble Prep: Pulse the leftover cake in a food processor or crush it finely with your hands. Aim for a crumbly, sand-like texture.
  2. Moisturize & Mix: Add the frosting/chocolate to the cake crumbs and mix until it comes together like a dough. If it feels too dry, add a teaspoon of milk at a time until it’s pliable.
  3. Shape & Chill: Roll the dough into even logs (around popsicle stick thickness) and gently press them onto a parchment-lined baking tray. If desired, chill for 30 minutes for easier dipping.
  4. Stick It In: Dip the bottom end of each stick in melted chocolate and gently insert them into the cake logs. Let the chocolate set for a few minutes.
  5. Dip & Decorate: Dip each cakesicle into the melted chocolate, holding it by the stick. Gently tap off any excess chocolate and adorn with sprinkles or other decorations before the chocolate hardens.
  6. Chill & Devour: Place the cakesicles on a parchment-lined tray and let them cool completely in the refrigerator (around 30 minutes). Now, go forth and conquer those sweet cravings!

Tips & Tricks:

  • Use cookie cutters to shape the cake dough before adding the sticks for a variety of fun shapes.
  • If you don’t have leftover cake, use store-bought cookies or crushed graham crackers.
  • To prevent cracking, let the cakesicles cool completely before dipping them in the chocolate.
  • Get creative with your decorations! Melted candy melts, drizzled caramel, or piped designs can add a personal touch.
